FAQs

Between walks and other outings, dogs are crated, on place, or supervised in the common area! Meals and enrichment are always provided in crates and supervised.
-
We do, but if you expect your intact female to go into heat during their stay we ask that you provide disposable or washable diapers. All dogs are on a crate and rotate schedule to avoid female dogs being harassed by males or vice versa.
-
We are not professional groomers, but will groom dogs to the best of our ability as needed during their stay. If your dog will need grooming during their stay with us, make sure to provide detailed instructions on how you groom your dog and be prepared to provide grooming tools for their stay.

Generally, no. We crate and rotate the dogs in the home an at this time we do not do play groups. Dogs that are dog-friendly or neutral may do walks with the resident dogs and do potty breaks with other dog-friendly or neutral dogs. As a safety precaution we do not allow on-leash greetings with unfamiliar dogs in the neighborhood and do not take boarding clients to dog parks.

The boarding program is not a board-and-train program, so short answer is no. We focus on upkeeping existing training. In the event that a dog is difficult to manage indoors or on walks, we may opt to crate train or do loose leash walking training using positive reinforcement and repetition.
-
Due to past experiences we do not do meet and greets with potential boarding clients. There is no need for potential client dogs to meet and interact with our personal dogs and other clients since we crate and rotate dogs in our home.
The only exception for this are dogs that are high management cases. In these cases I will decide if we need to schedule a consult prior to boarding to ensure everyone’s safety. If you prefer a boarding option that allows meet and greets with resident dogs, and even allows play groups in their home/facility, we would be happy to refer you out!

The purpose of a meet and greet is for you and your dog to see our space and meet us prior to boarding. Meet and greets are typically 20-30 minutes and we can do a quick tour of the space your dog will be boarding, walk around our neighborhood, and discuss anything not covered by our boarding request form.
From a behavioral standpoint, meet and greets do not necessarily ease a dog into staying in a new place with new people or mitigate any ‘stranger danger’ behaviors. True decompression happens over the course of a few days, and we do our best to ensure your dog settles in safely in our space!
A few inquires have been submitted about a new client dog spending the day with us or doing some form of longer meet and greets (an hour or more, or doing a hike or activity together). At this time we do not offer daycare and cannot accommodate longer meet and greets or activities prior to boarding a dog. -
Boarding clients should prepare to provide any of their dog’s everyday tools (whether that be a flat collar and leash, harness, ecollar, prong, etc…). The ONLY tool we might introduce to a boarding client for safety and management on walks is a slip lead.
-
We only take boarding clients into dog parks that are clean, completely enclosed, and completely empty of other people and dogs. ;)
-
Generally we have 1-2 boarding clients in the home, depending on our training schedule and availability.
-
In 2023 and 2024 we will only board 1 dog at a time. Certain exceptions might be made depending on the dogs’ sizes, training, and our availability.

At this time we do not offer daycare.
